Description
TheraBand Hand Bars – Water Dum
bbells for Pool Exercise
Water dumbbells provide additional resistance during water workouts and aquatic fitness classes. Challenge yourself to improve your cardio or strength routine by adding water weights! Start with the beginner-level hand bars and progress to the intermediate and advanced resistance bars.
Hand Bar Abduction
While standing in shoulder-deep water, hold the hand bars out at your sides. Keeping your arms straight, push the weights through the water and down to your sides. Return to the starting position, and repeat for 10-20 reps.
Floating Push Downs
While floating on your stomach, submerge the hand bars and hold them against your chest. Push down into the water to extend your elbows. Return to the starting position, and repeat for 10-20 reps.
Hand Bar Press Down
While standing in shoulder-deep water, submerge the hand bars and hold them at your waist. Press one weight down into the water while holding the other at your waist. Return to the starting position, and repeat on the other side. Perform 10 reps on both sides.
Professional Approved
Swim coaches, physical therapists, and other health professionals use water weights during hydrotherapy and aquatic training to develop upper and lower body muscles. These buoyant foam weights are great for rehabilitation of shoulder injuries and after shoulder surgeries, and swim class instructors use hand bars to increase resistance during upper and lower body water workouts.
